Texan Woman Marries Herself
For her 40th birthday, kindergarden teach Yasmin Eleby from Houston, TX celebrated by marrying herself with an elaborate ceremony, purple bride’s dress and 10 bridesmaids. Eleby vowed to wed herself if she wasn’t married by her milestone birthday.
Eleby spoke with FOX26 Houston via Skype to defend herself from the critics who say she’s mocking marriage. “It was about me showing self-love, professed the teacher who currently lives in Saudi Arabia. “I made vows to myself,” according to Eleby. “I made promises to honor, love and forgive myself.”
