Meet the Longest Married Couple in America
After 80 years together, Maury and Helen Goosenberg were just named the longest married couple in America. To put it into perspective, that’s 29,128 more days than Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries!
The Carlsbad, California couple were bestowed the honor by the Worldwide Marriage Encounter society this weekend, reported Fox11.
When asked the secret to their successful union, 100-year-old Helen said it was all about being able to laugh at the little things.
She and Maury, 102, didn’t have a big wedding ceremony back in the day, as they eloped during the Great Depression in 1935.
