Michael Jace is on trial for the 2014 murder of his wife April Jace.

In new transcripts released in court on Thursday, The Shield star reportedly told detectives at the scene of the crime that he only wanted to wound her.

“I was just angry. All I intended to do was shoot her in the leg. And then I shot her in the leg and that was it,” the 53-year-old said in 2014. “I just ruined lives. Four lives. I mean, you could put the needle in my arm right now and be done. I’m fine with that.”

He and April had two sons together.

The couple’s ten-year-old testified that just before hearing the gun off his father told his mother, “If you like running, then run to heaven.”

Jace is accused of shooting April in the hallway of their Los Angeles home. If convicted he faces 50 years to life in prison.

From 2002 – 2008, he portrayed Detective Julien Lowe on the FX series The Shield.
