Woman Defends Her Inexpensive Wedding Rings After Being Shamed

What woman doesn’t want a sparkly engagement ring? Not Ariel Desiree who took to Facebook to prove marrying for love is far more important than having a giant rock on your wedding finger after a store employee shamed their purchase.

Ariel Desiree and her boyfriend Quinton McRae wanted to get married after two years of dating so they went wedding ring shopping at Pandora. Ariel had her heart set on pear-shaped ring she found on Pinterest, but they could only afford a $137 sterling silver and cubic zirconia matching pair. While an associate was helping them with the purchase, another employee approached the couple.

“Y’all can you believe that some men get these as engagement rings? How pathetic.”

Afterwards, Ariel took to Facebook to describe how hurt her husband was at the employee’s comment, and how insecurity set in as he questioned Ariel about whether she was happy with their choice in rings.

She also questioned why society is so materialistic and why is it equated with how much you love a person. She adds she would’ve married her husband with a 25¢ gum ball machine ring.

Her story resonated with people online and has since gone viral with others sharing similar stories.
