Ariel Desiree and her boyfriend Quinton McRae wanted to get married after two years of dating so they went wedding ring shopping at Pandora. Ariel had her heart set on pear-shaped ring she found on Pinterest, but they could only afford a $137 sterling silver and cubic zirconia matching pair. Afterwards, Ariel took to Facebook to describe how hurt her husband was at the employee’s comment, and how insecurity set in as he questioned Ariel about whether she was happy with their choice in rings.
She also questioned why society is so materialistic and why is it equated with how much you love a person. She adds she would’ve married her husband with a 25¢ gum ball machine ring.
Her story resonated with people online and has since gone viral with others sharing similar stories.
